A persona is a person written from a description. Say who you want in plain language — a retired jazz musician in Lisbon who distrusts streaming — fill in what your description left out, and we write them. Then you talk to them, and they answer as themselves: their slang, their day, their opinions.
What you can do without paying
Browse the catalogue and talk to any persona in it, for as long as you like. No account is needed to read or to chat.
Making your own
Creating a persona costs a credit. Buy one, three or ten; credits do not expire and follow your account to any device you sign in to.
Describe the person in your own words. The app reads the description and asks only for what it did not say — a prompt that mentions a 62-year-old is never asked for an age. Your request then goes to a person who writes the persona: it takes a few minutes, and it appears under Yours when it is ready.
What they know
- The time where they live, so a persona in Lisbon is not describing a morning ride at two in the afternoon.
- The weather there, so nobody talks about a downpour on a clear day.
- The units they would actually use — miles in California, kilometres in Portugal.
Written by a person, before you meet them
Every persona is reviewed by a person before it exists. If a persona says something it should not have, the chat screen's menu has a report button that sends it straight to us.
They are fiction, and they are not advisers
Personas are written by a language model and reviewed by a person. They are characters: they are confidently wrong sometimes, and they know nothing about the real world beyond what they were written with and the time and weather where they live.
Nothing a persona says is advice. Not medical, legal, financial, psychological or safety advice, whoever that persona is written to be — a persona written as a doctor is a character written as a doctor, and nothing more. Do not rely on what one tells you, and do not let it stand in for a professional or for a person who cares about you. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.
